This therapy involves liberally covering the guest in medicated oils/ sandal oil/ aromatic oils and then using smooth, gentle movements to rub the oil deeply into the body. Regular Abhyanga tones up your skin and rejuvenates and strengthens all the tissues so as to achieve ideal health and longevity. Warm massage oil is used in Abhyanga. Pressure is applied with palm, fingers and the hand. Light pressure is applied, especially over the heart and abdominal region. More time is devoted to areas, such as the back, legs and soles. The soles have the nerve endings, thereby requiring more attention. When the views expressed in the different Ayurvedic texts are put together, here are the benefits that can be expected from regular performance of this pleasant ritual-
Increased circulation, especially to nerve endings

Calming of the nerves
Lubrication of the joints
Increased mental alertness
